What does the server maintenance service include?
The scope is tailored to your environment: security reviews, updates, backups, functional checks and resource monitoring. The proposal identifies covered servers, domains and applications, review frequency and deliverables. You can commission a one-off PHP update or preventive maintenance; new feature development is assessed separately.
Can you update PHP for WordPress without breaking the website?
We reduce risk by reviewing plugins, the theme, extensions and integrations, preparing a recoverable backup and testing compatibility. We cannot guarantee an incident-free update before assessing the application. If a component is incompatible, we agree its update, replacement or adaptation before changing the production version.
Which PHP version should we upgrade to?
A maintained version that is compatible with your application and includes the necessary security patches. We first check the branch and package running each website: some providers backport fixes without changing the base version number. An urgent patch and an upgrade to a new branch may require separate work. Keeping an unsupported version is not a permanent solution.
Does updating WordPress also update PHP?
Not necessarily. WordPress, plugins and themes form the application; PHP is configured in the hosting environment or server. Both layers need reviewing. An up-to-date WordPress installation may still run on old PHP, while changing PHP without testing plugins can cause compatibility problems. We coordinate both within the agreed scope.
Do you work with Linux, Plesk and other hosting providers?
We can review Linux and Plesk environments and coordinate work with the hosting provider. Before quoting, we check system versions, available permissions and responsibility for each service. Some shared-hosting updates can only be performed by the provider. We work remotely from Valencia.
How much does server maintenance cost?
It depends on domains, applications, server condition, backup requirements and service arrangements. After an initial review, we provide a proposal separating setup work, recurring maintenance and any hosting, licence or storage costs. We do not set a fee before understanding the environment to be maintained.
Does an update remove an attack that has already happened?
A patch fixes the corresponding vulnerability but does not, by itself, remove malicious files or revoke compromised access. If we find signs of intrusion, we propose a specific scope for investigation, containment and recovery. Preventive maintenance and incident response must be defined for the particular situation.
Does maintenance include 24/7 support and immediate recovery?
Service hours, channels, priorities and recovery objectives are explicitly agreed in the proposal. Round-the-clock coverage and guaranteed recovery times are not assumed. We also document tasks that depend on the hosting provider and which restoration tests are included.
